Every summer, fall, and spring, the Campus Archaeology Program takes on an undergraduate student to work as an intern. The student earns course credit, and gains valuable experience working in an archaeological setting on campus. Along with working in the lab and helping on excavations, the interns also are given the opportunity to work on a special project relating to an aspect of Campus Archaeology. In order to gain their course credit, they are also expected to keep a journal narrating their experience. This is blog is the journal of the Campus Archaeology Intern.
The author will change every semester; in some semesters, there may be multiple authors, as we may have more than one intern. It should be interesting. This is an opportunity to watch the Campus Archaeology Program unfold from an inside perspective, and to gain an understanding about what the work behind the scenes of analysis, research, and excavation is like from a student perspective.
